Delivery Adventures - 2022 Part 2

Part 2: Truck Challenges

Well, the delivery truck fell out of the frying pan and into the proverbial fire. I got the phone call from Michael, our other delivery driver, Wednesday morning and he said "something strange happened to the delivery truck" - I had to stop myself from telling him that he had the wrong phone number. He explained that he was driving down the road in Mt Vernon, WA and all of a sudden everything electrical stopped working in the truck. The only thing not stopped was the engine which he couldn't even turn off with the key. I know what you are thinking, “does this mean that my deliveries will be late?” The answer is “maybe” and “it depends”.

I thought that I was smiling but maybe that’s broken too

As of Thursday afternoon the truck is still at the Isuzu dealership waiting to be looked at while Michael is now in a rental truck finishing delivering the load. Assuming our truck is fixed soon, how else is Michael going to get home, then we will be able to use our delivery truck. If it isn't, then we will put a box on our second truck and use that for deliveries. Unfortunately, all of this takes time.

I am hopeful that the delivery truck is an easy repair, my best current guess is that there is a problem with the electrical connection between the cab and the chassis of the truck. My favorite guess is that there is just a blown fuse somewhere. This has been a really well running truck but it is getting a few years on it now and so it’s starting to show its age. Not ready to write it off yet, but I am starting to look at it a little suspiciously.
